Promoting social justice and antiracism is an important goal of education in general as well as of language teaching.
Presenters Ryuko Kubota, University of British Columbia; Michelle Lupisan, Salinas High School (CA); and Clayton Frederick, Everett Alvanez High School (CA), provided participants with a basic understanding of what social justice and antiracism mean, and of how these topics can be integrated in both beginning-level and advanced-level classrooms by offering concrete examples.
