The AI and Technology in Japanese Language Education SIG aims to explore the potential of integrating AI and technology into Japanese language education. The group is open to everyone, from beginners to advanced users of technology. We seek to enhance the quality of Japanese language education by learning about new educational tools and methods while sharing information and supporting one another.

Goals:

The SIG’s overarching goals include, but will not be limited to:

  1. Deepen the understanding of the basics of technology and AI, and learn how to apply them in educational settings.
  2. Share examples of technology use in Japanese language education and discuss effective practices.
  3. Promote mutual support and networking among members, fostering new ideas and projects.

Activities and Highlights:

  • Webinars and Workshops: Regular online sessions to learn the basics of technology and AI tools.
  • Practice Sharing Sessions: Share both successful examples and challenges related to technology use in educational settings, and discover new ideas through discussions.
  • Collaborative Projects: Plan and implement joint projects to develop new educational materials and learning tools using AI and technology.
