AATJ 2025 JNHS Mini Grant

AATJ is pleased to announce the Japanese National Honor Society Mini Grant. This grant is for current AATJ members and must be used for JNHS activities as part of advocacy and/or seeding money. This grant provides $300 to five JNHS chapters to be used toward activities between August 1, 2025 and July 31, 2026. Upon completion of the grant activity/activities, recipients will provide a written report about the activities for which the funds were used.

The grant may be used for the following:

  • Induction ceremony and reception
  • Speaker honorarium/gift
  • Onigiri action
  • Japan Cultural Festival/activities support
  • JNHS T-shirts
  • Expense for exchange projects such as pen pal postage

This grant should not be used for the following:

  • JNHS Chapter fees
  • JNHS Student application fees
  • Delivery/postage fees
  • Gift cards, etc.

Selection Process:

  • Submit the application. Please be prepared to provide a description of the planned activity(ies) as well as a description of anticipated expenses for the planned activity(ies)
  • The application period begins on March 1, 2025 and ends on April 30, 2025.
  • Grant recipients will be notified by early June, 2025.
  • Grant recipients will be announced in the September AATJ Newsletter.
  • AATJ will issue grant checks directly to recipient teacher unless they request otherwise.
