The AATJ 2026 Spring Conference will be held on March 12, 2026 in Vancouver, BC, Canada, in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of the Association for Asian Studies. Presenters should be prepared to give their presentations in person. Proposals are due by Monday, October 27, 2025, 11:59 p.m. EDT.
Organized panels are 100 minutes long in total and should be limited to four active participants (four paper presenters, or three presenters and one discussant). If a presentation in a panel is based on a collaborative project involving multiple people, please designate one presenter to serve as the representative. Panels may use their time flexibly but should allow at least 30 minutes for discussion with the audience.
Please fill out the form below to propose a Panel Discussion.
If you wish to propose an individual paper, please use THIS form.
Please note that each individual may present (or co-present) only one (1) paper, but may participate in more than one session if the second is in the role of chair and/or discussant (up to two sessions maximum).
This will be an in-person conference, and all presenters are required to attend and present in person. In addition, all presenters must be active AATJ members in good standing (i.e., annual membership dues paid) at the time of the conference.
Thanks to The Oka Professional Development Fund, five $1,000 scholarships will be available for participants in the 2026 AATJ Spring Conference. Priority will be given to three groups— (1) presenters, (2) graduate students, and (3) junior faculty/early-career instructors. Further details will be announced later this year, and early-career scholars are strongly encouraged to submit a proposal.
This form is currently closed for submissions.
