The Department of World Languages & Cultures in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor-in-Residence with a Japanese language concentration. This position carries a teaching load of four courses per semester, with a mix of lower- and upper-division Japanese courses. The expected start date is August 2025. The department is looking for a committed teacher with a documented record of excellent teaching. The candidate’s research expertise is open. Description The Department of East Asian Studies of the University of Alberta is seeking to hire a full-time  Teaching Professor at the rank of Assistant or Associate Lecturer, to teach all levels of Japanese, and to serve as director of the Japanese language program. Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences with a preferred start date of August 2025. Description The Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations (EALC) at the University of Chicago invites applications for a position as Director of the Japanese Language Program with an expected start date of September 1, 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. The selected candidate will be appointed at the rank of Assistant Senior Instructional Professor, Associate Senior Instructional Professor, or Senior Instructional Professor, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The initial appointment is for a minimum term of 3 years, although longer initial appointments may be possible depending on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate.
